Heart 9/11

Vin Chiocchio was contacted by Gregg & Weis Architects who was working with HEART 9/11, a charitable organization made up of a team of first responders - FDNY, NYPD, PAPD and the NYC Building Trades - that bonded in the aftermath of September 11, 2001 to honor the sacrifices of brave colleagues, veterans and family members. HEART 9/11 received a call for help from a veteran in Hamden who suffers with PTSD. The veteran was in a need of help in the rebuilding and expanding of her small cape home. The work to be done included a second-floor addition that would allow the family to grow as well as new HVAC, new plumbing and electric, the addition of a bedroom and bathroom and a new front porch.
